Does "I Do" Mean "I'm Done?"

Susie Savvy has a long held belief that when people say ‘I do,’ they mean ‘I’m done.’ You put your best foot forward in order to ensnare a potential, attractive mate regardless of timeframe or effort required. It is amazing to Susie how quickly that valiant, some might even say stalwart effort can evaporate when said mate is in the cave by the fire on a nightly basis!

I do means just that. I work hard at my relationship all the time.

Almost over

Had mediation in July. Not a positive outcome. A month later I finally proposed an offer that husband responded to, positively. I can start to see the trees in the forest. What a relief it was, sitting in the lawyer's office and getting husband's signature on the proposal. Got home and paralegal faxed me the final papers to sign regarding settlement of property. I had to initial the document 8 times and fax it back to her. Easy, right? The first initial was easy, then as I was initializing all of a sudden I got really sad. The end is closing in...I'm making it final. Soon the decree will be ready and I'll have to sign that. I don't know what it will feel like signing the final papers, but I'm thinking it is going to be hard for me...making it FINAL.
How did it go with anyone else whose done this?
